SurSaj Music Academy was started with a simple thought – every sincere music learner deserves a peaceful place, a caring teacher and a clear path of growth. Here, learners are encouraged to develop a deep love for riyaaz, a strong understanding of swaras and rhythm, and the confidence to present themselves on any stage.
Classes are conducted in small batches so that every student is heard, corrected and guided individually. From children taking their first musical steps to adults reconnecting with their passion, SurSaj welcomes all age groups and designs the pace of learning according to each person.
Our teaching combines traditional guru–shishya values with modern methods like karaoke practice, recording-based feedback and structured lesson plans. Theory and practical go hand in hand so that students do not just copy tunes, but truly understand the music they sing or play.
Smita Raje is a dedicated music educator with a rich academic and practical background in Indian classical music. She holds M.A. (Music – Vocal), B.Ed. and Visharad qualifications and is a college topper in M.A. (Vocal).
Her teaching style is patient, clear and encouraging. She believes that every student has a unique voice and learning speed. Through consistent riyaaz, simple explanations and repeated listening, she helps students slowly strengthen their sur, rhythm and expression.
Smita has guided many students towards confident performances, school and college competitions and formal music exams. She focuses not only on musical skill, but also on discipline, respect for the art and joy in learning.
SurSaj students learn in a peaceful but lively space where they can practice, make mistakes, correct themselves and grow together. These moments capture the comfort and focus of the classes.
Smita Raje is regularly invited as a judge for school, college and community singing competitions. These invitations reflect the trust placed in her musical judgement and experience.
Aarvi’s performance and success are a reflection of her hard work and regular guidance at SurSaj Music Academy. From basic swaras to confident stage presentation, her journey inspires many new learners in the academy.
Our aim is that every student, at their own pace, experiences the joy of reaching such milestones – whether it is a small school competition or a larger cultural event.
